Dr. Nobin Bordoloi College occupies a very important place in the academic domain of Jorhat district. Established in the year 1986 by the sincerest initiatives of a good number of benevolent public and academicians and provincialised by Government of Assam Order No. AHE/587/2013/9 dated 21st May 2014, the College was initially functioning its activities in Titaram Bordoloi Boy's High School premises under the Principalship of Late Prafulla Ch. Mahanta, the then Headmaster of the School from 1986 to 1991.
The college acquired its own land when a few generous and philanthropic donors like Late Bhava Ch. Borboruah, Late Kamal Ch. Bordoloi, Late Dr. Nobin Ch. Bordoloi, Late Premadhar Saikia, Late Loknath Gogoi, Premoda Borah, Mr. Bhogeswar Saikia, Mr. Nityananda Bordoloi, Late Premkanta Borah and Bandana Borah offered their valuable lands in which the college is now situated.
