Welcome To Dr. Nobin Bordoloi College

Dr. Nobin Bordoloi College occupies a very important place in the academic domain of Jorhat district. Established in the year 1986 by the sincerest initiatives of a good number of benevolent public and academicians and provincialised by Government of Assam Order No. AHE/587/2013/9 dated 21st May 2014 the College was initially functioning its activities in TitaramBordoloi Boy's High School premises under the Principalship of Late Prafulla Ch. Mahanta, the then Headmaster of the School from 1986 to 1991. The college acquired its own land when a few generous and philanthropic donors like Late Bhava Ch. Borboruah, Late Kamal Ch. Bordoloi,Late Dr. Nobin Ch. Bordoloi, Late Premadhar Saikia, Late Loknath Gogoi, Premoda Borah, Mr. Bhogeswar Saikia, Mr. Nityananda Bordoloi , Late Premkanta Borah and Bandana Borah offered their valuable lands in which the college is now situated. The college has been named after Dr. Nobin Bordoloi 'Samaj Ratna' a social worker of repute and litterateur who hails from this locality.

VISION OF THE COLLEGE

The college aims at providing quality education to all sections of society, especially to the socially and economically underprivileged. The college also envisages to creating a class of socially committed and virtually responsible citizens instead of producing some job seekers. Some of its vision includes:

COLLEGE IDENTITY CARD

College identity cards are issued annually Old identity cards are to be surrendered at the end of each academic session for renewal. A lost identity card may be replaced by a new one on payment of Rs. 30.00 Only

PLAY GROUND

The college campus is equipped with a playground for the outdoor games such as Cricket, Football Volleyball, Badminton etc. It has facilities for athletics also

LIBRARY

The college library contains more than 12,000 books on various subject. It has an adjacent reading room for the students. The library buildings under construction, the fund has been provided by Sri Bijoy Krishna Handique, Central Minister of India.

SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship facilities are provided as per criteria of the Govt of Assam. There stands a 'Best Graduate Scholarship of the College which he been sponsored by Dr. Brojen Bordoloi. It is running from the session 2003-2004 onwards.
